So there I am once again with the tip of my flippin stick 6 feet down in the water trying to dislodge my jig from the brush pile I was fishing. Despite my poking and prodding in the branchy pile of nastiness, I'm left with no choice but to cut my line and leave another jig behind as my temper begins to flare. To top it off, while I was poking around down there I broke one of the guides off my rod! Now I'm hot! After 5 minutes of cursing, growling and throwing my hands in the air like an angry Baboon (I think I even made up a few new words during my war dance), I finally settled down and the wheels in my head immediately started spinning. And that's when it happened…the idea for the 3.5" Texas-Rig Jig was born! As a matter of fact, the 3.5" Texas-Rig Jig also happens to be the very first bait released by PowerTeam Lures. Plus it was the bait that put PowerTeam Lures on the map (a little history there for ya). Anyway, so now I have a bait that has a jig appearance but I can Texas rig it (hence the name Texas-Rig Jig) so it allows me to fish the nastiest of brush piles without having to worry about getting my bait hung up! JOY! Double JOY! I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of spending more time fishing and less time trying to free up my baits. If you like flippin' and pichin' as much as I do, I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about. Flip, Pitch and be Merry! ***It's a proven fact that reducing stress adds years to your life.

Bob's Tech Tip

9 times out of 10, I rig this bad boy on a 4/0 EWG topped off with a tungsten weight. I peg the weight but leave about 3/8 inch between the peg and the hook, unless of course if I'm punching grass. In that case, I'll peg the weight tight to the hook. Fish it just like you would a standard jig and pitch it anywhere you please…even in jungles where you wouldn't even think about tossing a standard jig in.

This bait will not let you down, I fish the Potomac River and it produces the numbers and size bass that everyone is looking for, the color selection has everything you could possibly need! Truly one of the best baits on my boat!

Once I saw this bait, I knew it would be a goldmine and it has not disappointed. I like rigging it weightless and throwing under docks/trees/brush and letting it go to work. If it's not picked up on the fall, once it hits bottom a jump or two and it's time to reel in a fish... Great bait. Highly recommended.

This bait has changed bass fishing for me catching lot's of bass on this bait lot's of big largies and some smallies also.

The versatility is the best part. You can rig this craw on a football jig for open water or docks, use it as a jig trailer and let the natural buoyancy of the rubber bring the claws to life pitching to targets and crawling it on bottom, or texas rig the bait with a weight above and pitch it into and around all types of cover.

My go-to approach day in and out June to Fall here in Ontario is a texas rig it on a Owner 5/0 Extra Wide Gap+ and pegged tungsten weight in the 1/4-3/4oz range. The tight spiral on the fall and perfect 3.5" size makes it a nice size for cold front conditions, pressured waters and on days where they are "on" it keeps the fishing coming in the boat one after the other. My first taste of PTL these things catch bass period give them a try.

This bait is a staple on my deck and always on at least one rod, sometimes two or three rigged various ways. It doesn't matter what time of the year it is.

In the summer, you can punch mats with it or work it on ledges attached to a football jighead. In fall you can pitch it to cover or work riprap banks with it. In the winter, you can put it on an light jighead and work docks, brushpiles and riprap on warm days with a slow retrieve. In spring, pitch the bed time story or delta destroyer on a bed and hold on. It is my favorite bait in the entire lineup due to the versatility. It is perfectly sized to do so many things well. I love this bait.

Our business is based on 2 things: First, the quality of the products we sell and second, the quality of the reputation we've earned. PowerTeam Lure's 100% satisfaction guarantee means you NEVER have to worry when ordering from us. If for any reason you're not happy with anything you buy from us, return it within 30 days for a prompt exchange or refund. But that being said, since 2010 we've never had a customer return anything except for one "large boned" fella that thought he could squeeze into a 3XL T-Shirt but really needed a 4XL.

** Shipping charges on returns are only refundable if:

*We made an error on your order. Not to brag but, our error rate is .05% which translates to 1 error per every 2000 orders…not perfect, but pretty damn close!

*The carrier damages your order during shipping. If this scenario happens, we refund you or ship out a replacement immediately. Then after you've been taken care of, we'll hunt the responsible carrier down to the ends of the earth to get our money back from them (they can run but they can't hide).
